This OEM customer manufactures systems for liquid separation using column chromatography techniques (High Pressure & Low Pressure Liquid Chromatography). The customer has brought 19 x Hydra-Cell pumps for a major pharmaceuticals company which will be used for different types of solvent acids and aqueous solutions. These pumps are used for the commercial scale production in the plant. Lewa & Quattro Flow pumps were previusly considered. |

An Indian-based Pharmaceuticals company manufactures Peptide-based products. They use Hydra-Cell pumps for the nano fitration of Oxytocin (a hormone which is produced in the hypothalamus and released into the bloodstream by the pituitary gland). Initially the concentrated solution of Oxytocin is pumped at 1000 L/hr through the membrane at 4 bar. Once it is passed through the membrane the impurities are separated and the permeate is sent for the next process. These pumps were installed in 2010 and have been running trouble-free; only the diaphragms were changed 10 years after installation. |

The porous glass beads manufactured at the first stage of production in this Russian catalyst plant will ultimately be used as controlled-release carriers for a wide variety of active catalysts. In the second stage of production the beads are washed and transported via channel baths into large processing tanks, where over a 2-day process they are impregnated with active catalytic material. The material is metered into the process tanks in the form of slurries. Hydra-Cell G10 pumps with polypropylene body are already in successful use on this duty. They are pumping aluminium sulphite. A further 10 x G10 pumps were scheduled for delivery in July 2013. and a new line incorporating multiple Hydra-Cell P200 metering pumps was due to be commissioned in mid-2013. Up to 26 more pumps (P200, P400 and G10) were likely to be required by the end of the year – in addition to 4 x G35 pumps to replace multi-stage centrifugal pumps elsewhere on the site. Hydra-Cell seal-less pumping technology is seen throughout the plant as the preferred choice on grounds of Life Cycle Cost (including initial purchase, installation and operating costs) and also because of its versatility, flexibility and proven reliability. |

INTERMAG is a leading producer of a wide range of agro-chemicals for agriculture and horticulture, as well as health promoting products for farm animals. INTERMAG Ltd was established in 1988 in Poland. Years of experience in Polish and foreign markets resulted in creating a broad and unique product portfolio. For crop sector INTERMAG manufactures biostimulants, chelates, fertilizers and other agrochemicals dedicated to agricultural plants, orchards and vegetables. These fertilisers are used in very small quantities, 0.2 litres per hectare, to promote healthy plant growth. There are over 20 different types manufactured on this plant. The plant was designed, built and installed by GEA Niro in Denmark in 2015. The Hydra-Cell pump is used to deliver the propriety solutions at 30c to 3 spray nozzles at the top of the spray dryer. The flow is controlled by an VFD which controls pump rpm and hence flow rate. Accurate control of the flow rate is very important to ensure stable temperature of the dryer and powder size. Powder size is very critical in use as it effects the speed of dissolving the powder. |
